GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) -- Detectives hope that releasing a photo of a suspect vehicle involved in a purse snatching that left a woman injured will help catch the people responsible.

The assault happened around 10:15 a.m. on December 5, at the Walmart store on Kenowa Ave. SW.

A woman was walking out to her vehicle in the parking lot when a silver Kia Sportage stopped, someone got out of the SUV, and grabbed the victim's purse from behind.  The woman fell to the ground, injuring her arm.

The victim was treated at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.

The SUV collided with another vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, sustaining damage to its passenger door, before driving away from the scene.

The theft suspect is described as being a man with dark hair and a thin build, wearing white shoes, dark pants, white coat possibly with an attached hood.  Detectives say the Sportage has Michigan license plate BKQ3773.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call the Grandville Police Department at (616) 538-6110 or Silent Observer at (616) 774-2345.
