Ferris State hires Tony Annese as new football coach

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) - Ferris State University has hired Tony Annese as the school's head football coach.

Annese was introduced to the media and public Thursday afternoon.

Annese has been the head football coach at Grand Rapids Community College the last three seasons.  GRCC won the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II National Championship in 2009 and 2011 under Annese.

Before GRCC, Annese coached for 25 years in Michigan high schools, including the last nine at Muskegon High School, where he won state titles in 2004, 2006, and 2008.  He was elected to the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in the spring of 2011.
