The break-in happened before dawn Monday, when a group of men broke into the Veto Street home and beat the occupants, stole electronics, then sexually assaulted a woman in the house before leaving.
Capt. Hertel says the suspects had gotten themselves invited to a party at the home on Sunday night, cased the residence, then left to return later. He says the investigation "uncovered a dangerous group."
Detectives believe the suspects are responsible for other home invasions and church burglaries in Kent and Ottawa counties.
Each of the adults in the case are facing charges of criminal sexual conduct, armed robbery and home invasion. Hertel says prosecutors are determining how to charge the juvenile.
The adult suspects in custody are expected to appear in Grand Rapids District Court on Friday.
