Michigan - In a given year, there might be anywhere from 10 to more than 50 reports of UFO sightings in Michigan. And even though the government denies their existence, those who say they've seen them first hand say they know there are life forms beyond Earth. "There are a hundred billion stars in our galaxy and a hundred billion galaxies that's an awful lot of places for these folks to come from," said Dan Wright, the chief investigator for Michigan's Mutual UFO Network. Each year there are dozens of reported UFO's landing in Michigan farm fields. "It's not a matter of belief it's a matter of evidence and we have a ton," said Wright. It's up to him to substantiate UFO sightings. He says 80% are not actually UFO sightings. But then there are those he says he can prove. March 8, 1994, an Ottawa County 911 dispatcher called the National Weather Service in Muskegon. The radar operator readjusted his gear and saw what others on the lakeshore were reporting. "At one point a bunch of cylinder shaped objects...oh my God what is that. They're going together and coming apart--there's three and their life like. These are huge returns. I've never seen anything like this not even when I'm doing storms. These aren't storms." Roughly around the same time this call came in, there were more reported sightings in the Detroit area. The United States Air Force investigated UFO's from 1947 to 1969. In a report, members of Project Blue Book, said there was no evidence of what they called extra-terrestrial vehicles. It's been decades since the first sightings were reported. And we still know very little about these flashes in the sky. In part, because it's become taboo for many scientists who want to study this subject matter. It may be centuries before scientists can prove--one way or the other--what's really in outer space. "I can't really predict the future I just know we'll be here and they'll be here and one day I believe it will come together but that may be a very long time from now," said Wright. According to Dan Wright, if you've had a close encounter with an alien, there's a greater chance your child and grandchild will too. New Mexico is the state with the most UFO sightings. Investigaters say there have been a number of sightings near nuclear plants in that area.
