Edmore - A 10 year old boy who ran away Monday is now safe at home again.
The Montcalm County Sheriff's department says Sergio Nemetz was found around shortly after 7:00 pm Tuesday, trying to get back into his own home in Edmore. Authorities believe the boy waited for police to leave the area, and then tried to slip inside the house when no one was looking.
Investigators say the boy took off Monday after getting into a fight with his grandmother.
He was staying with his grandmother while his mother was at an out-of-state funeral. His father is in the military and was serving in Mississippi. Both were returning home early to help search for the boy, when they received the good news.
Since the boy was missing for so long they were concerned for his safety. Search dogs were brought in, as was a large search crew. Montcalm County Sheriff William Barnwell says about 150 people, both law enforcement officers, and volunteers, helped with the search for Sergio. The boy's family expressed their thanks to all of the searchers.
