WM Lutheran beats Zion Christian, 56-24 to capture second straight Alliance League Conference title.

BYRON CENTER, Mich. (WZZM) - They may hail from a small school, but they play a big game.

West Michigan Lutheran has clinched its second straight Alliance League Conference championship after beating Byron Center Zion Christian Thursday night, 56-24.

Ferris-State-bound senior Christina Branch recorded a double-double for the Mustangs. She finished with a game-high 20 points and ripped down 14 rebounds.

Katie Krueger added 18 points for Lutheran and Leah Mahon chipped in with 10 points.

Since West Michigan Lutheran joined the Alliance League two seasons ago, they have yet to lose a conference game. Thursday's win runs their conference win streak to 23 straight.

W.M. Lutheran improves to 16-3 while Zion Christian falls to 8-12.
