HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) - The Ottawa County Health Department is warning people to stay away from the Black River and Lake Macatawa.

About 50,000 gallons of sewage from a pumping station flowed into the river and made it into the lake. The overflow is due to a mechanical failure.

Water samples were taken Monday, and should be available later today. People should avoid all contact with the Black River and Lake Macatawa until the advisory is lifted.
