Michigan's unemployment dropped in March

LANSING, Mich. (WZZM/AP) - The unemployment rate dropped statewide in March, compared to February.  Across Michigan, the jobless rate fell to 9% from 9.4% the previous month.

Here is a look at all of the regions across Michigan.

  • Ann Arbor, 5.5 percent, compared with 5.4 percent.
  • Battle Creek, 7.5 percent, compared with 7.7 percent.
  • Bay City, 9.2 percent, compared with 9.3 percent.
  • Detroit-Warren-Livonia, 9.6 percent, compared with 10.2 percent.
  • Flint, 9.6 percent, compared with 9.8 percent.
  • Grand Rapids-Wyoming, 7.2 percent, compared with 7.4 percent.
  • Holland-Grand Haven, 7.1 percent, compared with 7.2 percent.
  • Jackson, 8.6 percent, compared with 8.8 percent.
  • Kalamazoo-Portage, 7.8 percent, compared with 8 percent.
  • Lansing-East Lansing, 7.2, unchanged.
  • Monroe, 8.4 percent, compared with 8.7 percent.
  • Muskegon-Norton Shores, 9.1 percent, compared with 9.4 percent.
  • Niles-Benton Harbor, 9.3 percent, compared with 9.9 percent.
  • Saginaw-Saginaw Township North, 9 percent, compared with 9.3 percent.
