GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- A Kent City-area man is facing charges for what deputies say was a false report about the attempted abduction of his two-year-old son.
Undersheriff Jon Hess says investigators found the father's story of the alleged abduction attempt on September 4 did not happen.

The father told the story to deputies on September 6. He claimed a man began walking away from their family's home holding his toddler's hand. The father reportedly told investigators he confronted the man and got his son back, but after taking the boy into the home the suspect had disappeared.
