Ann Romney in Hudsonville

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) -- The Vice Presidential debate was a big topic of discussion this morning during Ann Romney's visit to Hudsonville.

Her husband's running mate, Paul Ryan, faced-off with Vice President Joe Biden last night in Danville, Kentucky.

Romney told reporters she thought Ryan did a 'great job.' She called him level-headed and very smart.  She also said he showed a lot of integrity and character.

Ann Romney is in Michigan today urging voters to choose her husband for President.  After leaving Hudsonville, Romney headed over to Metro-Detroit for an appearance at a cider mill.

Mrs. Romney also was thrilled with her husband's performance in last week's debate.   She said something happened then that she had been waiting for for a very long time: "It was only Mitt on the stage, there was no media there was no spinners there was no negative ads it was just Mitt, and what came through is the Mitt I know - that I've been waiting for a very long time for the American people to see who this guy is."

About 400 people heard Mrs. Romney at The Pinnacle Center.  Republican activists are excited about Romney's rising poll numbers.  "Take my word, Romney will be your next president - Michigan is in contention - and a lot of those swing states are now flipping toward Romney" said Dave Agema of Grandville, one of Michigan's representatives to the Republican National Committe.
