HUDSONVILLE (WZZM) - Porn is something most churches condemn, but the Daybreak Church in Hudsonville is bringing in an internationally known porn star to send a message to its congregation.

Pastor Wes Dupin says his church caters to Christians who've strayed from religion and he invited porn star Ron Jeremy because he says an increasing number of people in his congregation are being harmed by easy access to porn on the Internet.

Jeremy will be joined by anti-porn pastor Craig Gross of the website, www.xxxchurch.com. Together they travel the world, debating the effects of the porn industry.

Research by Forbes estimates 13 percent of web searches in 2010 were for erotic content and every second, 28,258 internet users are viewing pornography.

"I have seen over the past few years just a tremendous rise," said Pastor Dupin.

A rise in Christians, right here in West Michigan, some of whom attend his Daybreak church in Hudsonville.

"If I could share with you the number of emails I get now from people who attend Daybreak who say this is now a serious issue in our home. It's dividing our marriage, it's hurting our children," said Dupin.

Dupin invited Jeremy to the church, even though Jeremy isn't religious. Dupin says the point is everyone is a sinner.

"We believe God loves Ron, the same you as you as me," he said.

Jeremy will be doing a Q and A session with Gross.

"Afterall, the church is for the sick, not the healthy. And oftentimes, in communities like West Michigan, we forget that," said Gross.

Gross, based in California, has debated on stage with Jeremy for six years. He says though they differ on issues, they've become great friends.

"I have not met a porn star who really wants to be a porn star. Most of them all feel stuck. People ask, 'are you trying to save Ron?' "Well I can't save Ron. I can keep showing up in his life," said Gross.  "I hope and pray he surrenders his life to Jesus."

Pastor Dupin hopes not just his parishioners, but the community heeds this message, to keep the issue of porn from hurting more families.

"It's not just adults, it's now in junior high, high school, and I want to face this as a community," said Dupin. "We're not going to hide from it. We're not going to run from it."

Jeremy and Gross will hold two Q and A sessions Sunday at Daybreak.  The first session is at 9:30 AM, the second at 11 AM.

Pastor Dupin says counseling and resources will be available for families afterwards.
