GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - With the presidential election only one week away, local schools are getting in on the "Every Kid Votes" campaign.

It's a nationwide program that allows elementary school students to vote in a mock election.

Tuesday, students at Pine Street Elementary in Wayland and students at Our Savior Lutheran in Grand Rapids cast their votes.

Event organizers say if kids get involved in the election process early on, they'll be more likely to cast their real vote as an adult, plus it helps educate kids on the election process.

Kids, and everyone, will be able to track the results later today at http://www.studiesweekly.com/vote/results.php .
