GRAND RAPIDS, MI  - The Tierney Sutton Band will breeze into Grand Rapids for a return performance at St. Cecilia Music Center on Thursday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m. The sultry voice of jazz singer Tierney Sutton was a favorite amongst St. Cecilia Music Center audiences in 2010. Sutton is back by popular demand and will have audiences swooning with her gorgeous vocals and top-notch band. The Tierney Sutton Band is currently celebrating its 4th consecutive Grammy Nomination for "Best Vocal Jazz Album". During a collaboration that has spanned 18 years, they have also been awarded a JazzWeek Award for Vocalist Of The Year, consecutive nominations for Jazz Journalist Association awards, recorded several #1 Cds on jazz radio, and garnered critical praise throughout the world.

The St. Cecilia Jazz Series with the Tierney Sutton Band kicks off the 2012/2013 season called "NYC2GR" depicting top-notch New York City caliber performances and St. Cecilia Music Center's new partnership with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in New York. Comprised of acclaimed vocalist Tierney Sutton and instrumental virtuosos Mitch Forman, Trey Henry, Kevin Axt and Ray Brinker, the band is an incorporated partnership and a model of both musical and business unity. Members of The Tierney Sutton Band have played and recorded with a diverse array of music legends including Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Placido Domingo, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor and countless others, yet the Tierney Sutton Band has demanded and received their commitment for almost two decades. They have headlined in recent years at Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, The Kennedy Center and Jazz at Lincoln Center and have recorded eight CDs to increasing recognition and acclaim. The band's album "On The Other Side" has been called by BusinessWeek "A Masterpiece ...eloquent, honest and magnificently sung and played." and the band's CD, "Desire", has been described by the Chicago Sun Times as "a conceptual masterpiece". Since her last appearance in Grand Rapids in 2010, the group recorded "American Road" in 2011. American tunes such as "Amazing Grace" and "Wayfaring Stranger" as well as "Summertime" by George Gershwin and "Somewhere" by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim are on their newest album.

St Cecilia's Jazz Series will also feature the award-winning bassist and band leader David Holland and his Quintet on January 24, 2013 and the world-renowned jazz pianist Bill Charlap and his Trio on March 14, 2013.

Season Tickets include:
• 20% off single ticket prices
• Reserved parking on concert nights
• Complimentary tickets to all pre-concert receptions (normally a $15 per person/per concert)

Ticket prices:
Subscriptions for all six concerts in both the jazz and chamber music series are $170 for A section tickets and $140 for B section tickets. Subscriptions to either the jazz or the chamber music three-concert series are $90 for A section and $75 for B section. Subscription prices represent a 20% discount off regular single ticket prices and complimentary tickets to all pre-concert appetizer and wine receptions. Single tickets for any concert are $35 for an A section seat and $30 for a B section seat. Student tickets are available for $10. A four-ticket flex pass is available for a 10% discount and can be used for any concert throughout the season. An A section flex pass is $133 and B section flex pass is $114. Pre-concert receptions can be purchased individually for $15 pp. Great Artist Gala concert and post-concert tickets are $75. A patron ticket that includes the pre-concert sit-down dinner and a tax-deduction is $250 per person.
