Crews were called to a house fire near Douglas Street NE and Seward Avenue NW Saturday afternoon.
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-A fire investigator is trying to determine the cause of a fire that damaged three to four buildings.
Crews were called to Seward Avenue NW at Douglas Street NW around 4:20 p.m. Saturday.
"Coming down the highway, we could see a lot of smoke in the air, so we knew we had something right off the bat," said acting battalion chief Roy Harvey.
Six fire engines responded to the flames, which damaged at least one home and a former VFW hall.
"We did have one guy jump out of a window. One of our guys caught him so that was a good thing," added Harvey.
No one was injured.
