KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM)- The Salvation Army says its red kettle donations are down.
Saturday, the organization got help from a galaxy far, far away. Darth Vader, a storm trooper and a Tusken Raider all stood outside the Sears Store in Woodland Mall, ringing bells in support of the Salvation Army. Customers who dropped in some change also got a chance to pose for pictures with the cast of characters.
"This is something that's becoming a tradition with the Salvation Army. It started last year and they called us up and said they wanted to do it again, so we told them to come on out and join the party," said Robert Mueller, coordinator for the Salvation Army of Kent County.
