GRAND RAPIDS - (WZZM) - Some high schools have basketball rivalries, and some fight over football. Now, there is a new high school battle -- about burgers.
In one corner we have the "Bruiser Burger," designed by students at Forest Hills Northern. In the other corner we have "Red Hawk Down" brought to you by Forest Hills Eastern. Both burgers are vying for your support on the menu at Kitchen 67 in Grand Rapids.

"We created a burger program where students have the ability to create and use their culinary skills," explains Brann. "Each burger sold we will donate $1 per burger per school."
Students at each school designed a burger that they thought would taste and sell the best. They also learn how to be entrepreneurs and even learn about marketing their burger.
The "Bruiser Burger" is a beef patty with pulled pork, Swiss cheese, mayo, onions and lettuce. The "Red Hawk Down" is a beef patty with pulled pork, cheddar cheese and mushrooms. Both burgers get their names from their respective school mascots.
With any Burger battle it comes down to taste, and each school says their burger tastes the best and their opponents taste terrible. So we set up a blind taste test at Kitchen 67.
We polled five random people and had them taste each burger. The "Bruiser" got four votes for the best and the "Red Hawk Down" got one. In terms of sales, though, the burgers are in a dead heat.
