Hanon-McKendry's 8th annual "Super Ad Bowl"
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The Super Bowl is this weekend, and for many viewers, it's all about the ads. A 30 second commercial spot during this year's big game costs up to $4 million.
Local firm Hanon McKendry has been judging Super Bowl ads for the last decade. The Grand Rapids advertising agency says more companies are focusing on engaging viewers.
"I've always said that there's two reasons to run a Super Bowl ad, one when you're introducing something new, and two, when you already have a fan base and you just want to talk to your fans," says Bill McKendry.
On WZZM 13 News at 6 p.m. Saturday, McKendry shares his all-time favorite Super Bowl ad. Here's a clue-- it only aired once.
