Meth labs uncovered after traffic stop

SHELBYVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) -- Michigan State Police troopers say a traffic stop led to the discovery of two meth labs in Allegan County.

George Kent, 49, of Delton was pulled over in Shelbyville for not wearing his seat belt. Kent's passenger was cited for having an open container of alcohol.

Investigators say they found meth in Kent's possession, and a one pot meth lab in the vehicle. The investigation moved to Kent's home in Barry County where another meth lab was found. Meth components were also found in Kent's vehicle and his home.

He is lodged in the Allegan County Jail after being arraigned for operating/maintaining a meth lab, possession of meth, use of meth and OWI drugs. He remains in jail with a $40,000 bond.

The troopers were assisted by the Allegan County Sheriff's department and WEMET.
