A food and beer pairing from Perrin Brewing Company.

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-A tasty celebration of Grand Rapids' title of Beer City USA is wrapping up.

This is the first year for "Cool Brews. Hot Eats." The event challenges local restaurants and breweries to create beer infused dishes. Brick Road Pizza company is one of the nearly 60 participants. The chefs featured three dishes: chili with a black lager beer, beer cheese dip with Founders Pale Ale and a pulled pork sandwich with beer-infused barbecue sauce.

"Dirty Bastard [beer] is so quintessential for this town and for this state that we have, and our sandwich and that beer pairing, it was like a match made in heaven," says James Lynema, manager of Brick Road Pizza Company.

Lynema says all three dishes were a hit, and the restaurant will keep the pulled pork sandwich on its menu.
As part of Cool Brews. Hot Eats.,  Experience Grand Rapids is encouraging people to share their experience by posting pictures of their meal in a contest on Instagram. Photos with the most "likes" will win. The contest winners will be announced on March 8.
