FRUITPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM)-A group of teenagers is being credited with helping police catch a thief.

Fruitport Township officers say two men broke into a home in the 4900 block of South Sheridan Drive Thursday afternoon and stole valuables. When the homeowner walked in, both men ran.

A group of teenagers stopped one of the suspects down the road and waited with him until police arrived. Detectives tracked down the second suspect using canines.

Both men were in the Muskegon County jail Friday, awaiting arraignment on burglary charges. Police say they both have criminal records and were recently released from prison.
