GREENVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) - A Montcalm County toddler is in critical condition after suffering a severe closed head injury which police are investigating as possible child abuse.
Sunday night, Greenville Department of Public Safety officers were sent to a house in the 300 block of West Grove Street on a report of an unresponsive child. On the scene, authorities found a two-year-old girl unconscious but breathing. She was transported by ambulance to United Health Systems in Greenville then flown by AeroMed to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Officers are trying to determine what caused the child's injuries and have interviewed family members. Authorities say the child lived with her mother and the mother's live-in boyfriend. So far, no arrests have been made.
