GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- A man is in the hospital after being hit by a train in Grand Rapids.
Police say 49-year-old Dennis Mart was lying on the tracks at Market and Freeman avenues when a CSX train hit him at a very low speed, dragging his body about 30 feet down the tracks. Train engineers say they saw Mart, but could not stop in time.
Mart was taken to Saint Mary's Health Care after first responders crawled under the train to get him.
Anyone with further information in this incident is asked to call police.
