GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- A day of testimony pointed the finger at Jahleel Hoskins as the man responsible for the disappearance and presumed death of Latrice Maze, a 26-year-old mother of five children.

Maze was last seen on March 19. Initially her case was treated as a missing person, but in April police said they were conducting a criminal investigation into her likely death.

Hoskins shared an apartment with Maze on Burton Street near Division Avenue. Video played in court Wednesday showed both of them talking to a Grand Rapids officer who came to the home at her request. The officer later left after Maze said she was "fine." She was never seen alive again.

Police believe Hoskins killed her and put her wrapped body in the dumpster of an apartment complex. The dumpsters contents were later incinerated.

Destin Peak, a friend testified that Hoskins told him, "I did her, I need help... I can't carry her by myself."

Another witness, Gregory Shanklin, testified Hoskins admitted to him he chocked Maze to death, and later wrapped her body in a sheet taken from her daughter's bed.

Testimony will continue at a later date before any ruling on whether Hoskins will be bound over for trial in Maze's death.
