GRAND RAPIDS, (WZZM) -- The Grand Rapids Public School teacher accused of having sex with her students has turned herself in.
The Kent County Jail confirms Jamila Love Williams, 35, was booked just before 6 p.m. Thursday, on four felony charges. No bond was set.
Since Wednesday, police say more victims have come forward claiming Williams had sex with students. If found to be true, she could face additional charges.
Williams, an algebra teacher at University Prep Academy.
Williams was first accused of having sex with two students. The Kent County Prosecutor's office has authorized warrants for four counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct against Williams. It's alleged she sexually assaulted two boys, ages 15 and 16, at various sites in Grand Rapids over the past three months.
Police say after their investigation into Williams became public, they received additional tips about more potential victims. Once investigators complete their report about the new information, it will be forwarded to the county prosecutor for review.
Under Michigan law, third degree criminal sexual conduct is a felony. She could face a prison sentence of up to 15 years if convicted.
According to her biography on the the school's website, Williams taught 9th grade mathematics. She had been at University Prep Academy for four years and spent a total of six years at GRPS.
Williams has four children, ages 19, 13, 9, and 3, and twin step-children, age 16. She says her hobby is "spending time with children because children are my world."
University Prep serves students from sixth through tenth grades. It calls itself a unique school, but it's not the only one in GRPS with staffers accused of sexual assault.
Earlier this week Kevin Dengel, a paraprofessional at Sherwood Park Academy was charged with three charges of second criminal sexual conduct and three counts of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct. Authorities claim he rubbed his body against students.
