WHITEHALL, Mich. (WZZM) -- It took energy crews eight hours to restore power for thousands of customers on the lakeshore.
Around 8:30 a.m. Monday, a substation in the Whitehall area failed, leaving 2,370 homes and businesses without service.
Customers called the WZZM 13 Information Center complaining of traffic delays from a combination of darkened signals, road constriction, and increased traffic from the nearby Electric Forest Music Festival in Rothbury.
Power was restored at 4:30 p.m., 90 minutes earlier than the projected restoration time of 6 p.m.
