Lieutenant Commander, Kevin J. McDonald, US Coast Guard Executive Officer, will be cutting the ribbon on Friday, July 26th, at 10 am, announcing the start of this year's Lighthouse Quilt Guild's annual Quilt Show, Great Lakes/Great Quilts. The show will be held Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 901 Columbus, Grand Haven, MI. Doors will open at 10am each day, and close at 5pm.

On display will be over 150 quilts made by members of the local Quilt Guild.
Quilts representing the guild's annual challenge "A Tisket - A - Tasket", will also be on display. Eight of these quilts will be chosen for display at the AQS Show in Grand Rapids, 2014.

There will be quilts for sale and demonstrations of quilting techniques both days. Vendors selling quilt related items, will also be on hand.

The Lighthouse Quilt Guild was formed in 1994, by women who gathered together, to quilt. The Guild now boasts over 120 members. The Guild is a non-profit organization that participates in many charities, including the Lake Shore Pregnancy Center, Ottawa County Health Departments, Habitat for Humanity and Quits of Valor. They meet every 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30pm, at Church of the Dunes.
