CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Police are looking for the man that robbed a Cedar Springs cash advance store Wednesday morning and may be involved in other armed robberies in Grand Rapids.

Cedar Spring Police say they were called to Instant Cash Advance at 151 Main Street at about 9:00am. The man had entered the store with a handgun and demanded money. Two employees and one customer were in the store at the time. The suspect got an undetermined amount of cash and then fled the scene.

The customer, a 58-year-old woman, complained of chest pains after the robbery and was evaluated by medical responders. She declined further treatment at the hospital. No one else was injured.

The suspect was described as a tall black male over six feet tall, wearing a dark-colored, zipper style hoodie, dark baggie pants and black tennis shoes. He had his face covered with a white, plastic mask. He is estimated to weigh 200lbs. and had a trimmed beard.

A K-9 unit from the Wyoming Police Department assisted but lost the track after reaching the street directly behind this business. A resident living on Beech Street told officers that she observed a red, mid-size vehicle parked on her street but when she went and opened her garage door, the vehicle was already gone. Police say that this vehicle was most likely involved with our robbery.

Police also say the crime may be similar to other robberies in the Grand Rapids area.

Anyone with information should call the Cedar Springs Police Department at 616-696-1330.
