Sand Sculpting at the Kent Co. Youth Fair
LOWELL, Mich. (WZZM) - The 79th annual Kent County Youth Fair kicks off Monday at the Lowell fairgrounds.
From now until Saturday, August 10, the whole family can interact with barnyard animals, try some carnival rides, learn to sand-sculpt and much more.
Despite flooding issues in April, President of the Fair Jon Bieneman says the ground is back to normal and the damage has been taken care of. At one point, the fairgrounds were 4-5 deep in water.
Kids can also get an extra perk if they do a little reading before the fair. On Tuesday, children 12 and under can try some rides for free, if they bring along a completed book log available on the fair's website. A free book, K.C. Lost Her Bell, was offered for free from the fair at Kent County library branches.
The KCYF opens daily 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. There is no gate or admission fee but parking is $6.
