(WZZM)- Fill your weekend with art, beer, and some good "clean" fun.
Wine and Canvass art classes bring out the inner Van Gogh in all of us. You start staring at a blank canvass and before you know it, you're working step by step to create a beautiful masterpiece.
Using acrylic paints, each class will have one painting to recreate. Classes are lead by Wine and Canvass instructors, who are often local artists, some plucked right out of Grand Rapids' Kendall College of Art and Design.
Wine and Canvass classes are new to West Michigan, having arrived in March of 2013. The popular classes are now even sprouting up in Kalamazoo and Detroit.
Cookies and Canvass classes are also offered for children. The paintings have fewer steps, and the class is 2 hours instead of 3.
You can also bring canvass classes into your home or some other intimate setting. Private parties are also offered. There is a 15 person minimum.
Classes for kids are $20 and adult classes are $35. Those prices include the art supplies and cookies. Sorry, grown-ups. The wine is sold separately.
There are two canvass classes this weekend. Cookies and Canvass takes over Celebration Cinema Saturday at 1 p.m. Wine and Canvass takes over San Chez Bistro in Downtown Grand Rapids Sunday at 5 p.m.
