The $30,000 donation will help provide sack dinners for under-privileged children in the Grand Rapids area.
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- Kids Food Basket received a grant from the Walmart Foundation Monday to help feed West Michigan children.
The $30,000 donation will go toward providing sack dinners for underprivileged children in the Grand Rapids area, many of whom would not eat dinner otherwise.
Kids Food Basket Executive Director Bridget Clark Whitney says with the school breakfasts and lunches, the sack dinners ensure students get the nutrition they need to support brain development.
The program serves 50,000 children in the Grand Rapids area alone.
