REED CITY, Mich. (WZZM) - A popular northern Michigan hotel, known around the country for being haunted, is closing its doors after 100 years of business. Now, there's a way for you to keep a piece of it.
The Osceola Inn is located about 70 miles north of Grand Rapids in Reed City, where you can now check out some of its items for auction.
More than 400 items will be up for auction, ranging from the more practical, like furniture, to some rarer finds including suits of armor, antique bar equipment, and a vintage piano and organ.
"Since the building has been around for so long, a lot of those items people know are in there," said Orbitbid's Amanda Helmer. "They may have seen [them] when they ate at the restaurant, or when they were staying in the hotel. A lot of them are vintage and very unique."
Since the hotel was originally built in 1881, several of the guests and owners have died, and the West Michigan Ghost Hunters Society says their spirits are still inside.
The auction is Wednesday, August 28, from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m.
Most of the items start at $5. You are welcome to visit the Osceola Inn to see the items in person, or you can check them out online.
