Harold Ordway pleaded guilty to second degree murder on Wednesday, June 12.
ALLEGAN, Mich. (WZZM) -- A West Michigan man who killed his two roommates learned his sentence today.
Harold Ordway will spend the next 20 to 50 years in prison.
He pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the death of Paul Atchley of Barry County. Atchley disappeared in 2011. In September of that year, Allegan County deputies found a bloody mattress in the bed of Ordway's pickup truck following a crash.
As part of a plea deal, Ordway admitted he choked and killed a second roommate, Michael VanBuskirk, whose remains were found in Kalamazoo County. The prosecutors say they could not charge Ordway in the second case, because they couldn't determine how VanBuskirk died.
