HART, Mich. (LUDINGTON DAILY NEWS) Troopers from the Michigan State Police, Hart Post are investigating a two car accident that occurred on northbound US-31 near Polk Rd that resulted in serious injuries to three individuals.
The accident was reported at 4:24 P.M., on Friday, September 13. Initial information indicates that both vehicles were travelling northbound on US 31 when one vehicle struck the other from behind at high speed. Both vehicles left the roadway and rolled over, causing one subject to be ejected.
A 19-year-old Shelby man was taken to Lakeshore Hospital in Shelby with serious injuries and was later transferred to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The occupants of the other vehicle, a 52 year old man and a 57 year old woman, both from Leslie Michigan, were flown to Butterworth hospital by AeroMed helicopter for treatment of serious injuries.
