GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The city's largest brewery has expanded.
Saturday night, Founder's Brewery debuted it updated taproom which is 40 percent larger. It features an extended front porch and an outdoor beer garden, complete with an outdoor bar that will be open spring, summer, and fall with heat lamps and a fire pits.
Owners say the expansion will hopefully cut down on long waits at the bar.
"Grand Rapids has really adopted us and enjoys what we're doing and we're grateful for that," said Mike Stevens, Founder's co-founder. "A lot of times the place was too busy, so now with the outside bar, the old bar, and now the Brassworks Bar all in one location, we have three different serving points, so hopefully you won't have the big line at the bar like you used to have."
There will also be a second story bar where brewers will offer beer school.
Founders offered a sneak peak of its expansion Saturday night to Mug Club members, it opens to the public Monday.
