GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- A Michigan development grant will lead to 110 new jobs for Grand Rapids.
The Right Place, Inc., with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the City of Grand Rapids approved a $300,000 performance-based grant for Firstronic LLC, a contract electronic component manufacturer on Michigan Street.
The company plans to invest $2.45 million for building renovations, machinery and equipment. The new jobs will be full-time and include benefits. The positions will range from engineers and technicians, to entry level electronic assembly operators and skilled hand laborers.
Firstronic serves a variety of industries, but focuses on medical device manufacturing.
Firstronic currently employs 68 people.
