UPDATE as of 10:55 am: The lockdown has been cancelled at two Thornapple Kellogg Schools.
Law enforcement determined the coffee can was not a threat.
The school district says a driver saw the coffee can in the middle of the road and moved it to the side of the road. Someone else just saw the person pushing the can to the side of the road and didn't understand the circumstances, so notified law enforcement of a possible threat.
But, there was never any threat to the schools.
