MIDDLEVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) - M-37 is back open after police closed the road to investigate a five-car accident early Sunday morning.
The crash happened where M-37 intersects with Yankee Springs Road in Barry County.
Deputies say three people; two young women and one man were transported to area hospitals. Their injuries are unknown at this time. Witnesses on the scene say one of the drivers looked to have suffered serious injuries.
All of the people involved in the crash had just left a wedding reception at the Barry County Expo Center.
Deputies say road rage might have been a factor in the initial crash where one car rear-ended another. Shortly after the first collision, another vehicle stopped to help and that car was then involved in a collision. A fifth car was also involved.
One car rolled over. One crashed onto its side. The three other cars suffered far less damage.
Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in this crash.
