FRUITPORT TWP., Mich (WZZM) - A lakeshore man who is appearing on the reality show "The Voice" is using his new found fame to raise awareness for two serious illnesses.

T-V audiences met Sam Cerniglia of Fruitport when his audition aired on October first.  They also met his two sisters Sophia who has Cystic Fibrosis, and Emmy who has Batten's Disease.

Sunday afternoon 400 people gathered at the Cerniglia home for a prayer circle for Emmy.

They held hands before circling around Emmy, to help celebrate her 27th birthday Monday.  Her parents fear it may be her last because of the advancement of her disease.

Cerniglia will be back on "The Voice" to perform a duet with a member of his team in the Battle Round.
