Cannonsburg Ski Area makes 40,000 pounds of snow for "Shredtoberfest"
CANNONSBURG, Mich. (WZZM) - In order to host the largest pre-season rail jam competition in the Midwest, Cannonsburg Ski Area needed 72 blocks of ice to make 40,000 pounds of snow.
During the 2nd Annual "Shredtoberfest" festival, 160 skiers and snowboarders like Steve Cummings of Colorado came out to participate.
"Growing up in Michigan, we never had anything really legitimate for early season stuff. Yes we have resorts in Colorado and big mountains and such but this kind of brings a community together," Cummings said.
