Annual Frankfort Film Festival Announces Fourteen International Award Winning Films to be Shown this Year During Northern Michigan's Fall Color Tour Season
The Frankfort Film Festival will be held October 24 - 27 and will feature International Foreign, Documentary and Full Feature Indie Film Festival Award Winners
Benzie County, Mich. (September 23, 2013) - The fifth annual Frankfort Film Festival, presented by The Garden Theater in Frankfort, Michigan will take place October 24 - 27 during Northern Michigan's spectacular fall color display. The mission of the Festival is to bring the "Best Of" from other events around the world to the big screen in downtown Frankfort. Impressive award-winning foreign, documentary and full feature indie films will be included on the schedule.
Passes for the four-day film festival are $70 for the entire weekend. A Director Sponsor pass includes two VIP passes for the weekend and access to the opening night party at the Garden Theater. A listing of the festival schedule and weekend passes are available online at frankfortgardentheater.com. Individual film showings can also be purchased for $10 per show, available one hour prior to each film showing at the theater. An Audience Award for "best film" is voted on by attendees of the Frankfort Film Festival.
Frankfort, Michigan is the biggest "small town" in Benzie County, located along M-22, a picturesque and well-known color tour route in Northern Michigan. In addition to the Frankfort Film Festival, visitors can also explore fall color along the Lake Michigan shoreline, climb the Sleeping Bear Dunes, stay in charming lodging locations, discover art galleries, wineries and quaint dining establishments. Guests to Benzie County will experience for themselves why this Northern Michigan location was voted 'The Most Beautiful Place in America" by ABC's Good Morning America viewers.
In addition to the international films shown, four short films by students from the Interlochen Motion Picture Arts program also be shown during the four days preceding a feature film. Interlochen's Motion Picture Arts program provides students with a progressive interdisciplinary education through writing, critical studies, and hands-on curriculum.
