GRATTAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Crews spent hours overnight putting out hotspots at a house fire in eastern Kent County.

It started around 12 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Lessiter Road NE, between 10 Mile and Belding roads in Grattan Township.

Crews say the fire destroyed the home.  Firefighters inside the house had to evacuate soon after arriving because the fire was so intense.

All 11 people living in the home got out safely.

Crews are now looking into the cause of the fire.
