GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- New technology and procedures for safer school buses are being presented at DeVos Place this week.
The National Association for Pupil Transportation is hosting more than 30 buses and dozens of booths. 1,600 people from all over the world are sharing ideas for improving bus functionality and safety. Some features include GPS, retinal scanning for tracking students, and two-door buses.
Safer transportation is the main focus of this conference. According to NAPT, One million cars pass school buses every day in the United States.
