GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Some new businesses in West Michigan are getting a boost.
The Seeds Entrepreneurial Business Competition awarded $10,000 to local start-ups Monday night. The competition is meant to stimulate the economy in southeast Grand Rapids.
The start-up money is part of a grant from Fifth Third Bank to encourage new businesses and financial education. A few of the winners say that cash can make a big difference to a growing business.
Fifth Third Bank, Seeds of Promise, the Inner City Christian Federation and Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women all came together to put on the competition.
