ADA, Mich. (WZZM) - Forest Hills Central held its 4th annual "Purple Basketball Games" Friday night, benefiting cancer research.
The Rangers girls and boys teams faced rival Forest Hills Northern.
The girls team won its game, 53-31 and the boys team completed the sweep with a convincing, 61-27 victory.
But the big winner of the evening was cancer research.
Four Forest Hills Central students, now seniors, came up with the idea of hosting the Purple Games, with the goal as 8th graders to raise $100,000 for cancer research.
They did it!
Friday night, Mariah Otolski, Isabella Fiorenzo, Allie Wittenbach and Sydney Vinton presented Van Andel Institute with a check for $100,000.
The four students partnered with the Lake Michigan Credit Union, the Cascade and Ada branches.
