Grand Rapids, MI (WZZM) - A shirt that is too big, pants that are too small, a tool kit you already have, and a waffle maker you don't need. These are all Christmas gifts that will be returned today, and local retailers are ready.
Gabe Ensenat, a Meijer store director at Cascade and 28th, are prepared for the rush. "This is one of the largest return days of the year so we are expecting a large number of customers throughout the day," explains Ensenat. "Our return policy is pretty simple 90 days on general merchandise... food anything with the Meijer brand on it we except 100%."

The reasons for returning a gift are many. One customer holding a pay of spam pants, "I am just getting a different size that will fit me a little better." Another customer is returning a storage organizer. " I just have one to many of them."
According to a MarketTools study, the most popular returned items are clothes and shoes, followed by toys, games, consumer electronics, kitchen & bath and jewelry.
