PLAINWELL, Mich. (WZZM) -- A man from South Bend, Indiana who may be connected to several bank robberies is in police custody after trying to rob an Allegan County bank.
Deputies say bank employees first spotted the 59-year-old Dennis Carl Love suspiciously at the PNC Bank in Martin four days before the crime. When the man returned Dec. 27, the bank manager locked him out of the business.
Deputies say the officer found a gun in Love's vehicle after pulling him over in Plainwell. Love was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, and faces two counts of attempted bank robbery,
two counts of felony firearm, and one count of carrying a concealed weapon.
Detectives say Love has been involved in several other bank robberies in Michigan and Indiana. They've already notified the FBI and police in those jurisdictions.
