GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- American Airlines said bad weather forced them to cancel their last 2 flights from Gerald R. Ford International Airport to Chicago on New Year's Eve.
About 100 passengers were affected by the cancelations, including a few dozen Spartan fans who were heading to Pasadena through Chicago for the big game.
Some stranded fans snapped up one of the few available seats on other airlines. Others rushed to rent cars, hoping to drive to Chicago in time to make connecting flights to California.
Even if passengers in Grand Rapids wanted to wait for possibly better weather and fly out tomorrow, they're out of luck. American Airlines says all their flights are booked.
