WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- Police say a 59-year-old woman, who was critically hurt crossing the street, may have been drunk.
The woman was struck by a car around 8:30 p.m. Thursday at 36th Street and Byron Center Avenue SW.
The 23-year old driver of a Grand Prix told police she attempted to avoid the pedestrian by moving toward the right lane, however the pedestrian also moved in the same direction just prior to being struck.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital and remains in serious condition. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt.
The incident remains under investigation.
