GRAND RAPIDS, (WZZM) - Many residents in West Michigan can stay indoors during the worst of the winter weather, but first responders don't have that option. That's why places like the Life EMS Ambulance Fleet Readiness Center in Grand Rapids are so important.

The facility allows mechanics to service over 75 vehicles, which will travel through the elements to save lives. Life EMS Ambulance will be making sure ambulances have extra blankets for patients, and ensuring crew members have additional clothing, water, and even chicken noodle soup.
