Extreme cold likely cause for water main break in Grandville

GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WZZM)-The extremely cold conditions are likely to blame for a water main break in Grandville.

The 12-inch pipe running under Chicago Drive and Canal Avenue SW burst around 1 p.m. Tuesday. Grandville Department of Publics Works employees have since shut off water to the area and are starting to work on the busted pipe.  A portion of the roadway is closed while repairs are underway.

City officials are not sure how many businesses may be affected.
